Clinical Advisor - PMTCT/MNCH at Management Sciences for Health (MSH)

Overall Responsibilities
The Clinical Advisor – PMTCT/MNCH will provide technical support in the planning and implementation of integrated PMTCT/FP/MNCH services under the MSH ProACT project in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. He/she will supervise field based clinical teams and will report to the Deputy Project Director. In addition he/she will be responsible for the planning, coordination and providing overall strategic direction for PMTCT/MNCH programming as well as providing strong leadership to a multidisciplinary team of clinicians working in supported health facilities.

Management responsibility
Spearheading the strategic design and implementation of integrated PMTCT/MNCH services including FP under the LMS-ACT project in Nigeria
Member of the Project Management Team that is responsible for overall project performance

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and clinical expertise in the provision of ProACT project PMTCT services
  • Work closely with the technical unit to provide technical assistance to partners and guide the development of innovative PMTCT/MNCH initiatives to support facility level program operations including FP integration, care and treatment of HIV infected pregnant women, infants and children.
  • Provide technical assistance in the training and supportive supervision of site clinicians providing PMTCT /MNCH, HIV counseling and adherence support services.
  • Provide on-going technical support and supervision to field based clinical teams who will in turn provide technical support to facilities in the implementation of integrated PMTCT/MNCH services.
  • Represent MSH ProACT at PMTCT technical working groups meetings hosted by the USG or Ministry of health, National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCP)
  • Develop a standard of care package for PMTCT service delivery and ensure implementation in supported health facilities.
  • Liaise and network with relevant ProACT partners and collaborators to improve MSH’s visibility, coordination of activities and promotion of shared advocacy agenda for PMTCT/MNCH.
  • Participate in the development and/or review of HIV policy and guidelines documents, in close collaboration with Ministry of Health (MOH) and partners
  • Take responsibility for monitoring, evaluation and reporting of PMTCT/MNCH activities within the project PMP framework
  • Provide clear documentation of programmatic achievements and keep MSH ProACT senior management informed on monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Work with ProACT senior management to document and publish best practices. 


ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Supervision: Works independently with authority from the Deputy Project Director, within strategy and policy guidelines.
  • Decision Making: Makes decisions with regards to work responsibilities and is accountable for them.
  • Responsibility over data or information: Has access to information within project, and is responsible for guiding PMTCT program data generation and management.


Qualifications

  • Medical Degree (MD) and appropriate licenses
  • Specialist degree in Ob &Gyn with a graduate degree in public health preferred.
  • At least 5 years experience with HIV/AIDS care and treatment, PMTCT or Reproductive health programs supported by bilateral agencies such as USAID and international agencies such as WHO and World Bank preferred.
  • Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature in PMTCT/pediatric HIV/AIDS treatment.
  • Experience in developing country health care programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to produce quality results in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and ability to foresee problems and initiate appropriate action;
  • Training and experience in Mentorship and Quality Improvement programs will be a distinct advantage
  • Strong working competency in computer applications to carry out management and statistical analysis required.

Participate in the PMTCT/Pediatric technical working group meetings hosted by the Ministry of health, National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCP)

Drive the implementation of a sustainable patient-level database plan including supervision, management and service statistics, quality assurance across all supported entities and projects.
Work with local implementing partners and State office staff to ensure that program monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet the donor and projects needs
Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including data quality assessments using official tools, assist in the preparation of monthly reports, and provide supportive supervision.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, Sociology, Behavioral Sciences biostatistics, public health, international health, Master degree in related discipline
At least 7 years post NYSC experience in monitoring and evaluation of health and/or programs, preferably related to HIV/AIDS and reproductive health (maternal and newborn health experience), including the use of data to inform decision making, communication, planning resource allocation and other strategic initiatives.
Good working knowledge of descriptive, inferential and advanced statistics
Quantitative and analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical colleague's.

2.) Laboratory Logistics Associate

Location: Abuja
Incumbent provides procurement and logistics support to the laboratory unit as well as technical support to health facility-based sites
Enhance service delivery as regards laboratory logistics at sites through program innovations
Contribute to development of laboratory logistics plan
Implement a logistics system plan for efficient quantification and supply of test kits, reagents and other consumables required for laboratory services In collaboration with other logistics and supply chain teams
Implement and monitor efficient documentation of laboratory documents and records at sites
Prepare progress reports of laboratory activities, laboratory program implementation and laboratory quality issues.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Ability
Bachelor's degree in relevant science or management field
At least 2 years experience in managing laboratory procurements or similar position.
Experience in Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Word, Excel and Access preferred
Knowledge of data management systems and advantage.

3.) Senior Pharmacy/Logistics Associate

Location: Kaduna

First degree in stores management, logistics, business management or related area with at least two years experience in a similar role, preferably in an H IV/AIDS program

3.) Stores Room Assistant- x2

Location: Abuja
Incumbent will be responsible for maintaining the stores in the central office

Assist in the distribution of such commodities and equipment to Supported sites
Assist in the maintenance of inventory records in the central store

In addition to the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project, the Senior Logistics Advisor HSS is expected to provide shared services to assist in JSI's activities implementing the USAID I DELIVER project, a US Agency for International Development (USAID)-funded project that procures public health commodities and provides technical assistance to strengthen PSM for contraceptives, TB commodities, and malaria prevention and treatment commodities.

JSI is seeking to fill the position of a Senior Logistics Advisor to support SCMS logistics and technical assistance activities being implemented by JSI in Nigeria. The SLA will be part of the Systems Strengthening Team and responsible for activities under the SCMS work plan as well as other activities within the integrated office set-up. The SWA will report to the Associate Director HSS.

Job Position: Senior Logistics Advisor - Abuja

Key Responsibilities
Support harmonization efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) to consolidate the different Technical Working Group (TWG) activities under the ATM
Provide technical assistance in the development of a national health commodity supply (logistics) master plan development for Nigeria
Provide technical support for annual national quantification and procurement planning of commodities for HIV, TB, and malaria control, in collaboration with all program stakeholders and partners
Support the Federal Ministry of Health's Food and Drugs Department to disseminate the national pharmacovigilance (PVG) policy and develop other system strengthening policy documents and implementation plans
Provide technical assistance for the development and implementation of a unified supply chain for implementing partners in a pilot region
Support the development of a harmonized national storage and distribution plan that services the ATM in ensuring the availability of products in primary health centers (PHCs).
Provide technical support for system strengthening activities of logistics and supply chain management for HIV, TB, and malaria disease programs, in collaboration with all program stakeholders and partners as well as training of relevant stakeholders on the various supply chain management available to SCMS
Work closely with the Systems Strengthening Department on managing relationships and maintaining routine communications with FDS partners, and all other related stakeholders
Contribute in identifying best practices and success stories for JSI Nigeria's monthly logistics bulletin
Perform any other activity as deemed appropriate by your supervisor
Minimum Qualifications and Skills/Knowledge
A degree in Public Health, Pharmacy, Logistics Management, Health Sciences or Business Administration
5 years of professional experience in health programs, preferably in health care supply chain management
Experience working with governments; previous experience in the area of policy development, supporting the translation of policies to actionable plans is desirable
Specific experience in HIV/AIDS, TB, or malaria programs strongly desired
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Training skills
Excellent technical writing and oral presentation skills highly desired
A proven ability to work as part of a team
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to travel in the field

Initiating and finalizing deals for the Centre.
Initiating and finalizing Sales activities for the Centre.
Active involvement in preparing the sales plan for the coming year /
quarter / month / week.
To review the sales regularly and improve on weaker areas constantly.
Keep the Centre Manager informed about the collection on a daily basis
Reviewing the target / achievement on a regular basis

3.) Engineer  Customer Care (Instructor) -  CCN003

Reporting to: Lead Trainer

Required qualification and qualities:
A graduate of Engineering or Architecture with a minimum of 2 years work experience preferably in the training industry. Proficiency in
Autodesk Design Suite, and any other Engineering Design Software will be an added advantage.
Team player with passion for learning and teaching
Must be a good communicator
Specific Duties include but not limited to the following:
To conduct classes as per schedule.
Ensure that training programs are conducted with a high level of professionalism.
Ensure that hardware complaints are logged whenever a hardware problem is noted.
Assist the Centre Manager in marketing training programs to students.
Assist the Executive Customer Service by providing demonstrations to all the prospects

4.) Executive  Customer Services (Counsellor) - CCN004

Reporting to: Centre Manager

Required qualification and qualities:
Should be a graduate with a minimum of 2 years experience preferably in the education industry.
Must be a Lady
Good Communication skills
Must be a team player
Creative / Innovative
Computer literate
General Responsibilities:
Respond to prospects and advise them on suitable training programs offered at the Centre.

Specific Duties include but not limited to the following:
To respond sensitively to all walkin and telephonic enquiries and followup.
To complete the admission procedures for all students, and update the admission form accordingly.
Inform all the prospects about course commencement dates.
Maintain the stock of Course material available at the Centre.

5.) IT Support  - CCN005

Reporting to: Centre Manager

Required qualification and qualities
A first degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
A minimum of 2 years IT work Experience.
Experienced in Windows Operating System and Server network administration.
A logical thinker and excellent problem solver with strong analytical skills.
General Responsibilities
Ensure a zero downtime in centre machines operation.

Specific Duties include but not limited to the following:
Installing and configuring computer
Hardware operating systems and applications
Monitoring and maintaining computer system networking
Troubleshooting system and network problems
Providing support; including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
Administer and maintain communications/network services on center devices
Ensure data safety and backup at all times.
