DIRECTOR OF WORKS RECRUITMENT AT GOMBE STATE UNIVERSITY


Gombe State University

The Governing Council of Gombe State University hereby announces that the position of DIRECTOR OF WORKS of Gombe State University is vacant and so invites interested and qualified individuals to submit applications for the position as follows.

The Position
The Director of works is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the physical development of the University’s estate; is responsible for the coordination and supervision of physical development projects; ensure quality and standard of structures in the University through proper advise and liaison with relevant bodies involved in the construction of all structures of the University; ensure proper preparation of tender documents for the University.


The Person
The Director must be a person of high integrity and capable of carrying all staff of the department along. He must also be receptive to new ideas and technology, and be willing to translate them into new pro1ects in line with the phased physical development plant of the University.

Qualification
Candidate must passes a good honours or master’s degree in Architecture, Building or Civil Engineering front a recognized university with not less than sixteen (16) years cognate experience eight(8) years of which must be unbroken service in the university system. The candidate must have attained the rank of Deputy Director or its equivalent in a University system or similar institution and must be registered with the relevant professional body such as ARCON, COREN, NSE, etc. the candidate must be ICT literate and compliant.
The candidate should not be less than 45 years, or approaching 65 years at the point of assumption of duty.
The Salary attached to the position is CONUASS 15. Other benefits to the holder of the office are as stipulated in the University’s condition of service.
