National Judicial Council (NJC) Recruits Network Administrator


The National Judicial Council has begun a process of designing, developing and acquiring State-of-the-Art Information Systems with the intention of improving the operations of the Nigerian Judiciary through the Computerization of Court Processes and the operations of all Judicial Bodies.


These efforts are in conjunction with local and foreign Development Partners and will entail acquisition, development and Installation of Hardware and software Systems including Oracle technologies (i.e. Oracle Forms, Oracle Database, OAS, Oracle Workflow, WebLogic etc), JAVA, Perl, Python, Linux, Windows Server, MS Visual Studio (NET), Networking Technologies including TCP/IP, WLAN, VPN, MPLS etc.

NJC is seeking suitable candidates with the right qualifications and aptitude to fill the following positions below

Job Title: Network Administrator - NJCNA

Job Responsibilities
Under general supervision, design, support, maintain and evaluate computer networking and other electronic systems as needed. The incumbent should have the ability to:
Plan, design and maintain networks.
Provide technical support to users.
Administer day-to-day operation of networks.
Implement LAN maintenance and management procedures.
Plan, analyze, design, generate code, test, implement simple to complex software application solutions as needed to design and maintain the network.
Read, interpret and apply technical data processing manuals and related documents.
Keep current by reading, interpreting, and applying information presented In trade journals, newspaper, and magazines.
Research technical manuals and guides to respond to questions and solve desktop computer problems.
Prioritize requests, organize, schedule and coordinate a variety of activities and projects,
Learn new software packages and adapt to changes in technology.
Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
Understand and follow oral and written directions.
Communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
Interpret, apply and explain policies and procedures.
Safely and appropriately operate tools, equipment and technology.

Qualification/Experience
A University Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
Possession of MCSE, CCNA, ESE, MCSE+E and/or MCSE+E certificates are preferred.
At least three (3) years experience in all areas of local, wide and metropolitan area network management and engineering including system configuration, setup, trouble’shooting, planning, designing, implementation, user support and troubleshooting a heterogeneous network are required.
The successful candidate will have experience in most if not all of the following enterprise level technologies:
Heterogeneous network infrastructure using Active Directory.
TCP/IP configuration.
WAN configuration using Cisco or equivalent hardware.
Cisco or equivalent Firewall
Cisco or equivalent Wireless.
Video multi-tasking and streaming.
Internet and intranet security.
Cisco or equivalent VolP.
Tier 2 supportfor the network connectivity issues.
Routing table configuration and troubleshooting.
Resolving trouble tickets that other support personnel cannot solve.
Communication with vendor support staff.
Evaluation and deployment of new technologies.
Managing ongoing security against both internal and external threats.
Routing protocols that include but are not limited to: OSPF, RIP, BGP.
Industry standards of network security procedures and policies.
Security principles of UPN, 802.1 x, wireless security and firewalls.
